For a century John S. Bradfield Elementary School and its PTA have thrived thanks to heartfelt involvement and financial support given by many generations of Bradfield families. As we celebrate our school’s Centennial Anniversary we are embarking on a focused fundraising campaign to ensure the Bradfield PTA continues to thrive for the next 100 years.

The Bradfield PTA traditionally gifts to the district between $500,000 - $800,000 annually to purchase school and educational supplies, support educational programming, supplement staff and substitute salaries, fund staff salary raises, provide technology hardware and software to each staff member, student and classroom, and help improve and maintain the school building and grounds. In addition to our district yearly gifts, the PTA also spends over $500,000 annually to pay for staff appreciation programming, meals and gifts, staff continuing education tuition reimbursement, field trips, the Learning Garden, continued care and enhancements of school landscaping, and school events such as Open House, Greatfriends Day, Bike Rodeo, 2nd Grade Musical, 3rd Grade Biography Day and 4th Grade Graduation.

In celebration of our 100th school year, and because of the generosity of our donors over many years, the Bradfield PTA was able to donate $1,253,000 this year to build a new field for our school and our community.

In addition to our field project, the Bradfield PTA has identified several more improvement projects we hope will positively impact our students’ educational environment, staff satisfaction and our neighborhood as a whole. Examples of ideas we plan to pursue in coming years are a renovation of the staff lunchroom and break area, a history wall installation in the school’s foyer, and staff bathroom refreshes. We believe this Centennial Campaign will help the Bradfield PTA continue to support projects like these and provide future gifts to our school.

We are asking you, families of our beloved school as well as alumni and our surrounding community, to help ensure we can continue these impactful improvements and donations in the coming years and well into the future. Our goal is to have 100% Bradfield family participation and raise $2 million over the course of this multi-year campaign in celebration of Bradfield’s Centennial!

A gift to the Centennial Campaign is an investment in Bradfield, its staff and our community as a whole today, tomorrow and for the next 100 years!

With gratitude,

Kamela Aboussie, PTA President
Jennifer Morton, PTA President-Elect
Abby Evans, Vice President of Development
Kelly Sporich, Vice President of Development

Bradfield thrives thanks to financial support of our wonderful families and corporate donors. These private donations are crucial to meet the ongoing needs of our school and staff. Currently, state funding formulas result in roughly 70% of our local tax dollars leaving HPISD, creating a $7-8 million budget shortfall. By contrast, the money you give to Bradfield PTA stays, allowing the Bradfield PTA to help bridge the gap and meet the ongoing needs of our school. With thanks to our generous donors, we are proud to provide the best educational experience to our Bradfield Broncos!
